How does SmoothPeel work?
The SmoothPeel technique relies on the delivery of a laser beam to the surface of the skin. The laser creates a beam of high-intensity energy that provides aprecise superficial ablation of target tissue.
How do I know if SmoothPeel is right for me?

Is this treatment just for adult skin?
There is no age restriction for SmoothPeel treatments. Remember, the appearance of aging skin can impact younger individuals, not just those in their middle or later years. SmoothPeel can assist with the prevention of problems of young skin as well as enhance the appearance of aging skin.
What can I expect during the treatment and how long will it take?
The treatment can range from 15-45 minutes depending on the area being treated. You and your technician will wear protective eyewear during the laser treatment. The technician will use a small hand piece to deliver the laser pulse to your skin. You will feel a probe touch your skin and deliver a small spray of coolant in conjunction with each laser pulse. The coolant protects the upper layer of the skin during each laser pulse.
What can I expect after treatment?
Your skin may feel like you have a sunburn. A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for comfort following your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve within a few hours. You will peel out to fresh skin in three to five days.
How many sessions will I need?
It can range anywhere from 1-5 sessions depending on the severity.
Are there any precautions I should take after treatment?
After the treatment you should wear a broad-spectrum sunblock (SPF 30 or above). In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Your technician may advise you of other precautions.
Are there side effects?
Your risks are minimal. Side effects may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, and blistering in treated areas-these usually do not last more than a few days. Permanent side effects are rare.
