MicroPeel®
Is the BioMedic MicroPeel® treatment right for my skin?
Exposure to the sun, the elements and detrimental living habits, all contribute to the appearance of our skin today. The MicroPeel® treatments can help reduce sun damaged skin, age spots, even skin tone and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. For sensitive skin a lactic acid MicroPeel® is recommended. For a more rapid exfoliation, the BioMedic MicroPeel® can be performed with glycolic acid at higher concentrations.
What are lactic and glycolic acids?
Lactic and glycolic acids are naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) found in fruits and other foods. AHA’s are used in formulations to exfoliate or shed the surface skin. The extent of exfoliation depends on the type and concentration of the AHA. At high concentrations, AHA’s function as peeling agents, which act more rapidly, and at deeper levels.
What happens during the BioMedic MicroPeel®?
First, dead cellular layers are removed by Dermaplaning or pure enzyme, a unique papaya based mask. Next, an AHA solution is applied to your skin. A slight stinging sensation may occur, but it is only momentary. After the desired level of exfoliation is reached, the solution is neutralized. The third and final step of the BioMedic MicroPeel® is a skin freezing process called Cryogenic Therapy. Carbon dioxide is applied to the face in light circular motions. The frosty mist released by the carbon dioxide immediately relieves inflammation and cools the skin. (Note: CO2 Therapy can not be done on all skin types)
How long will treatment take?
The BioMedic MicroPeel® is a safe and effective procedure that is accomplished in 20-30 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
For maximum results, we recommend you have a series of six BioMedic MicroPeel® procedures 2-4 weeks apart.
Will I experience any downtime after the BioMedic MicroPeel®?
There is usually no downtime associated with the BioMedic MicroPeel®. However, depending on the customization of the BioMedic MicroPeel®, you may experience minor peeling in the days following the procedure.

MicroPeel® Plus
Is the BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus right for my skin?
The BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus is designed to refine skin texture damaged by environmental factors and skin conditions such as acne and acne scarring. Available in two concentrations of salicylic acid, the treatment allows you to tailor you visits to fit your skin type and long-term goals.
What is Salicylic Acid?
Salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, is found naturally in willow bark, wintergreen leaves, and sweet birch bark. Formulations containing high concentrations of salicylic acid help slough off dead cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process.
What happens during the BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus?
After cleansing the skin, the BioMedic MicroPeel Plus solution is applied evenly to the face. One minute after application you may experience some slight stinging and burning. Two to three minutes after application, your level of discomfort will reach a peak and then quickly diminish. Once the optimal level of salicylic acid has been deposited, the BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus solution automatically becomes inactive. The skin in then gently rinsed.
How long is the treatment?
The BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus is a 15-20 minute in-office procedure.
How many treatments will I need?
For maximum results, we recommend you have a series of four BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus procedures 4 weeks apart.
Will I experience any downtime after the BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus?
For approximately one week after the procedure, you skin will under go the BioMedic MicroPeel® Plus renewal process, shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on your skin you may or may not experience peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins 2-4 days following your treatment and lasts for approximately three days. In addition, you may experience mild itching and irritation.
